What's This?

UK’s Intelligence provider, responsible for protecting information and informs relevant UK policy to keep our society safe, GCHQ are back at it again;Last year, GCHQ created a groundbreaking challenge, which asked ‘Can You Crack It’. Now in 2013, they are asking ‘Can you Find it?’.

The new challenge has all the potential intelligent candidate cracking their brains online in their efforts to join an elite community of people with some of the specific skills GCHQ looks for when hiring, perhaps you could be the next 007 or if you just want some cutting edge technology, you could also win  one of 100 Raspberry Pi or 1 of 5 Google Nexus 7 tablets.

All you would need to do is solve 5 codes have hidden around the web, starting with the encrypted codes on the Can you find it page; it sounds relatively easy and I have already cracked the first two challenges but don’t be fooled, the complex codes have been created by a GCHQ team of top mathematicians aiming at recruiting the smartest, not necessarily the most experienced candidates.

On the page you will find a string of 143 characters broken into 28 sets of five and one final set of three. Once cracked, the code provides a trail of clues that will lead participants on a “cyber treasure-hunt” to the final answer and a possible job at GCHQ; this is your chance of testing yourself to see if you are the right fit for the sort of jobs around one of the world’s top intelligence group. Why not head over to the Can you find it page and give it a go, be sure to leave a comment if you manage to complete them.
