While it’s often considered as one of the biggest tech markets in the world, there are times when the Japanese consumer electronics landscape seemingly moves at its own pace, with products and brands that you don’t necessarily see elsewhere. That in mind, Fujitsu is a name that despite being well known, specializes mostly with computer hardware—which is why it’s a bit surprising to see a new smartphone release from the brand.

More specifically, Fujitsu’s “Arrows” brand recently announced the upcoming release of its newest smartphone, the Arrows Alpha F-51F, which is set to launch in the summer. It’s a brand that most people outside Japan would’ve never heard of, but we’ve gotten some interesting details about the new phone courtesy of the folks over at GSMArena. There’s no pricing details or specific launch date listed so far, although there’s a good amount of info about the phone’s specs sheet.

Available in Black and White colour variants, the Alpha F-51F features a 6.4-inch OLED Super HD display, encased in a pretty durable chassis that features IP69 dust and water resistance. The phone comes with a look that we’ve already seen on a lot of other smartphones though, so there’s nothing too exciting going on about its design here. The display is surrounded by considerably-thick bezels though, which indicates that it’s mostly a midrange device. The phone also works with face and fingerprint biometrics for security.

Under the hood, the F-51F is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 Extreme chipset, coupled with a memory configuration 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded thanks to support for microSDXC external memory cards, with up to 2TB capacities. For software, the phone runs on Android 15 with support for newer Android features such as access to Google Gemini. There’s also a 5,000 mAh battery inside, which supports up to 90W charging speeds. Fujitsu will also supply a 90W charging brick in the box, something that you don’t see much of these days.

For mobile photography, the Arrows Alpha F-51F’s camera setup consists of a dual 50-megapixel lens system on the rear, comprising a main sensor and an ultrawide sensor, alongside a high-resolution 50-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The main camera uses Sony’s LYTIA/LYT-700C, a 1/1.56-inch sensor and is equipped with optical image stabilization as well.
