Nubia is no stranger to dedicated gaming devices with its wide array of RedMagic-series phones, and the brand recently expanded its offerings with the new RedMagic 10 Air, which comes with some pretty capable hardware in addition to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset from a while back. With that in mind though, the phone’s biggest highlight is its rather affordable price, which starts for less than 500 quid. What else can you expect though?

The 10 Air comes with a 6.8-inch AMOLED display that also features a 120Hz refresh rate, which should provide smoother visuals during gaming scenarios and everyday usage and scrolling—it’s also pretty sharp with a resolution of 1116 x 2480 pixels (and 400 ppi), so content consumption with high-resolution media content should be no problem at all. The display also comes with a decent peak brightness of 1600 nits, so you won’t have much trouble with outdoor viewing even when under direct sunlight. Finally, there’s added protection against scratches and minor damage with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

For software, the Redmagic 10 Air will come pre-loaded with Android 15, and Nubia promises that it will provide up to three major Android OS upgrades which isn’t too bad, although not quite the six to seven years that you’re getting from brands like Google and Samsung, for example. It also comes with Redmagic OS 10 which is Nubia’s proprietary Android skin, and the phone will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 as mentioned earlier. For RAM and storage, you’re getting different configurations with 12GB of RAM paired with 256GB of internal storage, and a higher-tier option with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
The 10 Air is equipped with a beefy 6000 mAh battery, which when combined with the 8 Gen 3 should provide most users with all-day endurance. The phone also supports 80W wired charging, allowing for a full charge from 0 to 100% within 52 minutes. Since it is designed for gaming, Nubia has equipped the phone with an ICE-X 9-layer VC chamber and “liquid metal cooling technology” which should help during intense gaming sessions.

Going over to its camera, the RedMagic 10 Air features a dual-lens setup with a primary wide-angle lens that uses a 50 MP sensor with an f/1.9 aperture, Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a secondary 50MP ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 aperture along with Auto Focus (AF), and support for video recording at up to 8K resolution at 30 frames per second (fps), 4K at 30/60fps and 1080p as well. In front is a 16 MP front camera, which is hidden under the display and supports HDR with video recording at 1080p at 30/60fps.

The RedMagic 10 Air is now available for pre-order in the United Kingdom, and Nubia is offering an early bird promo starting from £439, making it cheaper (at least at the moment) compared to other devices like the Google Pixel 9a, and the iPhone 16e.
