With more and more smartphone brands making the pivot back to slimmer and compact smartphones, we’re seeing a resurgence of sorts within the Android smartphone market—take for example the new OnePlus 13T, which finally made its debut following endless leaks and rumors. Launched for buyers in Chinese markets, OnePlus promises a more pocket-friendly experience with its new handset.

Similar to the Pixel 9 and iPhone 16 Pro series phones, the 13T comes with a display that steers away from the massive screens found on nearly every phone these days. In front you’ll find a 6.32-inch LTPO AMOLED display which comes with an FHD+ resolution, and a fairly smooth refresh rate that maxes out at 120Hz for a more visually-pleasing user experience. As for its design, the 13T has been engineered for a more comfy approach to single-handed use, measuring just over 150mm (approximately 5.9 inches) in height and less than 72mm (around 2.8 inches) in width.

One key departure from previous OnePlus designs is that the 13T ditches the signature Alert Slider with a newly-introduced “Shortcut Key.” It works similar to Apple’s Action Button on its newer iPhone models and can be customized to open functions beyond a simple mute button. Inside the handset is Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is paired with multiple memory and storage configurations maxing out at 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage for files and media.
On the software front, the Chinese variant of the OnePlus 13T runs on Oppo’s ColorOS 15, which is built on top of Android 15. While there’s no mention of a global launch at the moment, OnePlus will likely pre-load the 13T with OxygenOS for markets outside of China. In terms of photography, the handset features a dual-camera system with a 50MP camera, which uses a Sony IMX906 sensor. There’s also a 50MP 2x telephoto camera and a 16MP front camera, the latter of which handles selfies and video calls.

As with most other recent smartphone launches, the OnePlus 13T comes with a fairly beefy battery with a 6,260 mAh capacity, made with silicon-carbon technology. This allows the phone to carry a larger power capacity without going overboard on its weight and thickness, allowing the 13T to remain pocket-friendly all throughout. The phone also features 80W fast charging support, as well as a 4400mm vapour chamber for heat dissipation.
