What's This?

For professionals and creatives, mirrorless cameras are among the most indispensable tools out there, thanks to their versatility and price-to-performance ratio. With that in mind, Fujifilm – one of the biggest brands in the industry – recently unveiled its newest additions to its mirrorless cam lineup with two new cameras. With that said, we’re taking a look at what they come with – let’s get started!

Fujifilm GFX100S

First up is the GFX100S II, which features a large format sensor for optimal image quality thanks to its 102MP GFX 102MP CMOS II sensor, and X-Processor 5 engine. Fujifilm says that this hardware combination delivers stunning resolution, accurate colour reproduction, and a wider dynamic range. The camera also boasts improved low-light performance, shooting at ISO 80 with minimal noise.

The GFX100S II comes with a ton of new features – there’s AI-powered subject detection autofocus that can track a variety of subjects, while faster continuous shooting at 7.0 fps captures fleeting moments. The camera likewise packs a high-resolution 5.76-million dot EVF for clear and accurate image viewing, and there’s a 5-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS) system that allows up to 8 stops for sharp handheld shots, even in darker environments.

In addition to its impressive lineup of features, the GFX100S II remains lightweight and compact, making it the most portable camera in the 102MP GFX Series. It also packs 4K/30P video recording, 20 Film Simulation modes for creative effects, and a Pixel Shift Multi-Shot feature that generates ultra-high resolution images.

For pricing and availability, the GFX100S II will be available for purchase in the UK starting June 17th, 2024 for a suggested retail price of £4,999 (including VAT) at authorized Fujifilm retailers, the Fujifilm House of Photography in London, and the Fujifilm online store. An optional Metal Hand Grip can be purchased separately for £135 (including VAT).

Fujifilm X-T50

Up next is the FUJIFILM X-T50, the latest mirrorless camera in the X Series. It’s equipped with a compact and lightweight body which houses a 40.2-megapixel sensor, in addition to an X-Processor 5 engine for enhanced image quality, sharp resolution, accurate colours, and improved low-light performance. The camera also comes with a new Film Simulation Dial for easy switching between different colour tones, in addition to the 5-axis in-body image stabilization system for sharp handheld shots.

The X-T50 is designed for versatility and ease of use – it features an AI-powered subject detection autofocus system that tracks a variety of subjects, including animals, birds, and vehicles. The camera can also record high-quality 6.2K video and offers a convenient AUTO mode for effortless shooting. With its stylish design, intuitive controls, and excellent image quality, the X-T50 is a great choice for photographers of all levels.

Starting June 17th, the Fujifilm X-T50 camera will be available in the UK for £1,299 (including VAT) in black, silver, or charcoal silver from authorized retailers, the Fujifilm House of Photography, and the Fujifilm online store. It can also be purchased in two lens kits: the X-T50 + XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ Kit for £1,399 and the X-T50 + XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8 R LM WR Kit for £1,649 (both including VAT).
