What's This?

It’s been a big week for OnePlus. The company once again took the spotlight following the launch of its new OnePlus 15 flagship, which at this moment is still exclusive for Chinese markets. That being said though, OnePlus also unveiled the latest addition to its “Ace” lineup with the OnePlus Ace 6, which comes with some pretty impressive features. One thing to note though is that the Ace series is exclusive for buyers in China, but OnePlus does occasionally bring it over to Western markets under its “Nord” line.

Based on its specs sheet, OnePlus has obviously designed the Ace 6 as a performance-focused smartphone—inside you’ll find that it runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and is powered by a massive 7,800 mAh battery with 120w charging support. In addition to a dedicated cooling system, OnePlus is also offering the Ace 5 in a handful of different RAM and storage options, starting with 12GB of RAM paired with either 256GB or 512GB of storage, and stepping up to 16GB of RAM with 256GB, 512GB, or a more generous 1TB of storage capacity.

In terms of design, the Ace 6 resembles the OnePlus 15 with the newly-designed camera bump, and comes in black, white, and silver colour variants. As with other newer OnePlus phones, it also ditches the alert slider in lieu of a dedicated hardware button which also functions as an AI hotkey. In front, the phone features a 6.83-inch flat screen with a sharp FHD+ resolution of 2800×1272 pixels, and a 93.6% screen-to-body ratio courtesy of really small bezels. The display can go up to 165Hz in supported scenes, and gets considerably bright at a maximum brightness of around 800 nits and a peak of 1800 nits. It uses crystal shield glass for scratch protection, while the rest of the phone is IP69K dust and water resistant.

As for its cameras, the OnePlus Ace 6 features a 50-megapixel wide-angle main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, 24mm equivalent focal length, AF autofocus support, and two-axis Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It also comes with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.4 aperture and a 23mm equivalent focal length, while a 16-megapixel front camera handles selfies and video calls. There’s no word yet on pricing and availability however, at least for buyers in China.
