What's This?

Google’s efforts at continuing to strengthen its Pixel smartphone lineup have remained consistent over the past decade, and the addition of the A-series line back in 2019 proved to be a success. With that said, many Pixel fans are now looking forward to the arrival of the Pixel 10a, which has been the subject of several internet leaks over the past few months and weeks. So with that being said, what can you expect from the Pixel 10a?

Inside, the Pixel 10a also carries over a lot of the same specifications from its predecessor, at least according to the predictions we have so far. Leaker Evan Blass earlier listed several specs from the 10a, which shares similar features to the 9a—this includes a 5100mAh capacity battery, the same base 128GB storage configuration, and the same 8GB of RAM. For performance, many are hinting that the 10a will come with the same Tensor G4 chip as on the Pixel 9a, although there are rumours that it might be overclocked compared to the “regular” Tensor G4.

Let’s talk a bit about its design—the Pixel 10a is expected to reuse the same aesthetic as with the Pixel 9a, which ditched the signature camera bar in lieu of a more subdued design, resulting in a flatter look overall. An official product render obtained by Android Headlines further confirms this, although there are some small differences such as a slightly-smaller 6.28 inch display and a somewhat-taller camera window, although the rest of device looks the same, right down to the thick screen bezels. It’s also rumoured that the 10a will come in Obsidian, Fog, Berry and Lavender colours.

As for its camera, the Pixel 10a is expected to feature a 48MP main camera, which is accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide camera as well as a 13MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. There’s no telephoto lens of course, as the A-series so far has stuck to dual-camera setups since the Pixel 4a series.

As for pricing and availability, there’s word on the internet that the phone will be priced at under 500 bucks in the United States, possibly at around $450; this makes it cheaper than the Pixel 9a which originally launched at $500. Finally, it’s thought that Google will announce the Pixel 10a on February 17th, which if true would be the earliest Pixel A-model launch ever, although of course at this point nothing is “official” yet.
