At this point in time, it’s probably safe to say that smaller premium smartphones are finally—and thankfully—making a comeback, as seen on recent phone launches like the OnePlus 13T and 13S for example. That being said, Vivo recently unveiled the Vivo X200 FE, which the company positions as a compact but powerful offering, with a pretty great set of features.

Available in four different colour variants, the X200 FE comes with a design that mostly looks clean and features a rather vibrant appearance. In front, the device packs a 6.31-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2640 × 1216 pixels, alongside a 120 Hz refresh rate which should make for a visually-pleasing and immersive viewing experience, all the more made possible thanks to the slim bezels on the sides of the display. Its small size also means easy handling even during prolonged gaming sessions on the go.

Speaking of gaming, Vivo has equipped its new phone with a pretty capable chipset. At its core, the X200 FE is powered by the Dimensity 9300+ processor, one of MediaTek’s newer flagship-grade chipsets. The phone also comes with a pretty sizeable 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 ROM. Suffice to say, you can easily run graphics-intensive games on the device, even for longer sessions—like most smartphones from Chinese brands these days, the X200 FE comes with a large capacity 6,500 mAh battery with support for 90W charging.

It’s a trend that we’ve really come to appreciate, as newer battery technology in phones like the X200 FE allow for larger capacities without sacrificing the overall weight and dimensions of the phone. For mobile photography, the X200 FE uses a triple-camera system on the rear which Vivo has co-engineered with Zeiss. This setup includes a 50MP Zeiss super telephoto lens, a 50MP Zeiss IMX921 main lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens; on the front, there’s a 50MP wide-angle camera for selfies and video calls.

As for software, the device runs on Funtouch OS 15 (based on Android 15), Vivo’s proprietary Android skin. There’s no word from Vivo yet if the phone will be launched for Western markets, so folks after the X200 FE might want to wait for a formal announcement on availability.
