What's This?

Having the best mobile phone simply isn’t enough anymore. As soon as we get our shiny new device, we’re on the look out for the next big thing. Luckily, the top manufacturers are constantly looking at ways to make a splash in the market, so new models seem to be in development constantly.

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for these upcoming models, and be quick to get your hands on the newest technologies. Here’s our mini A-Z (or, rather, I-S) on the devices that will hit the market soon.

iPhone 6

The release of a new iPhone is always pretty highly anticipated. This one is absolutely no different. Set to be released in September this year, it’s not just the standard iPhone that will hit the shelves; it is also suspected that Apple will unveil a new phablet, too.  It has been rumoured that the standard iPhone will feature a bigger screen than the previous incarnation, and, according to Tech Radar, the resolution could be as much as 1704 x 960.

Of course, this will come at a price. It has been estimated that a 5.5-inch handset will cost approximately £565. If an iPhone’s what you’re after but you don’t want to pay the big bucks, there’s always the option of picking up a refurbished model. Most the networks have good deals such as O2’s and Mobile by Sainsbury’s. They come with all the components a new one would just in a plain box and guarantees are available too.6

LG G3

This one has only just hit the stores, but it’s already being labelled the manufacturer’s best smartphone so far. The LG G3 has been praised for its easy to use camera, as well as its quality display and impressive security features. It runs Google’s Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system and offers a simple user interface for optimal functionality.

Google Nexus

The latest version of the Nexus phone could be with us by late autumn this year, and could feature a 5.5-inch display.  Known as the Nexus 6, it could even boast a 2K screen resolution (2,560 x 1,440), which is pretty incredible by all accounts.

Early rumours suggest this new Motorola Google phone will come with a 15-megapixel camera, a HF screen that’s at least 5.0 inches. Powered by a new generation quad-core processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon, which runs at 2.3 Ghz, it’s sure to give you plenty of bang for your buck. It could be an interesting addition to the market, as Motorola continues its resurgence in the mobile phone universe.

Nokia Lumia 635

The new Nokia Lumia 635 has just been released in the UK and the US this month, with the phone featuring a 4.5 inch 480 x 854 ClearBlack Display and 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. When Windows 8.1 is released later this year, it will come with the option to upgrade to this operating system, meaning customers won’t be left behind.
