What's This?

Amazon recently took the wraps off its newest and fastest Fire TV lineup in the UK, which consists of a new portable streaming stick and three new TV models, which the e-commerce titan says are designed to help viewers find and stream content faster than ever before. This launch is part of several new smart home products in the company’s 2025 hardware range, which also includes its latest selection of Kindle Scribe tablet models.

In addition to the new smart TVs, this year’s lineup also includes the Fire TV Stick 4K Select, which is the company’s most affordable 4K streaming device to date, priced at just £49.99. Amazon says that the new streaming stick comes with the new Vega operating system, which according to the company provides a smoother navigation experience, in addition to 4K picture resolution, HDR10+, as well as support for all major streaming services with upcoming compatibility for Xbox Gaming and Luna.

Amazon also unveiled the Omni QLED Series (priced at £649.99), which is the brand’s premium model with a display that’s 60% brighter than previous models and features double the local dimming zones for deeper blacks and brighter whites. It supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+ Adaptive technology and is 40% faster with an upgraded processor, and also comes with smart OmniSense technology, allowing the TV to turn on when someone enters the room.

Also present at the event was Amazon’s redesigned 2-Series with HD resolution going for £249.99, while the 4-Series comes with a sharper 4K resolution display at £429.99. Both feature slimmer bezels and are 30% faster with a new quad-core processor inside. Interestingly, Amazon also brought over its OmniSense technology to the 2 and 4-series TVs, in addition to Dialogue Boost which enhances voice volume without increasing background noise.

For content discovery, Amazon says that it’s been working on new Fire TV features like “Continue Watching row” which now acts as a personal bookmark on the home screen, letting users jump straight back into shows across different services; a new single watchlist meanwhile allows viewers to save shows and movies from any streaming service to one centralized list. The new TV models are set to be available soon for buyers in the UK, with information on availability to follow.
