What's This?

It’s no secret that OnePlus has had a pretty busy December this year, following the global launch of of the OnePlus 15. That being said, the brand is also working on bringing more products to market, such as the upcoming OnePlus Pad Go 2, a new addition to its tablet lineup. It’s not officially out for retail yet, but OnePlus (being OnePlus) teased some of the tablet’s key details and features just a week before its December 17 launch. Let’s take a look.

Contrary to what some might think, the “Go” in the new tablet’s branding doesn’t refer to its size, but rather to its price. It’s not a small tablet by any means in fact, and features a large 12.1-inch display, which outsizes most other affordable tablets on the market, a lot of which come with 10 to 11-inch screens. The display also gets bright at up to 900 nits in high-brightness mode, a 2800 x 1980 pixel resolution, and support for Dolby Vision.

It should also be noted (pun unintended) that OnePlus will offer a stylus with the Pad Go 2, making it the company’s first midrange tablet with support for stylus input. OnePlus says that the Pad Go 2 stylus will offer up to 4,096 pressure points as well.

You might be wondering why the tablet falls under OnePlus’ affordable Go series, and this can be easily seen on the inside. Powering the device is a Dimensity 7300-Ultra SoC, an upper midrange processor from MediaTek that’s designed for phones and tablets that fall just below that flagship-grade pricing tier. It is a very capable chip nonetheless, and is accompanied by 8GB of RAM, with 256GB of internal storage. For software, you’re getting Oyxgen OS with a host of new AI features, including AI Writer, AI Translation, and AI Summary to name a few.

Other features include a rather large 10,050mAh battery, which can charge at up to 33W speeds with 6.5W reverse charging as well. You also get a pair of cameras on the front and back (as is tradition), and two different colour variants which include black and a lavender model. The OnePlus Pad Go 2 will be officially launched alongside the OnePlus 15R and the new Watch Lite this December for global markets.
