As far as Android tablets go, Samsung used to be at the forefront of the competition, although the company’s more recent entries have been somewhat lacklustre, at least in comparison to its previous S-series tablets. With that said, it looks like OnePlus is looking to fill in this gap with the OnePlus Pad 3, which comes with some pretty impressive hardware features in the mix.

In terms of design, the OnePlus Pad 3 comes with a premium look and feel courtesy of its metal unibody, which measures less than six millimetres in thickness. The device is offered in a single colour (Storm Blue), and its chassis features an eight-speaker system, which consists of four woofers and four tweeters. The Pad 3 also comes with a large 13.2-inch screen with a 3.4K resolution, 12-bit color support, and a 7:5 aspect ratio, with an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls. Turn the device over, and you’re greeted by a single 8MP camera with support for 4K video recording.

Inside, the OnePlus Pad 3 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which is accompanied by 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, although you can also opt for a 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. OnePlus has managed to fit a cooling system that uses graphene composite vapour chambers inside, which should keep the tablet relatively cool during gaming. You’ll also find a beefy a 12,140 mAh battery, and OnePlus claims that this can last for up to 17 hours of video playback and 6 hours of intensive gaming, at least on paper. Charging is handled by OnePlus’ SUPERVOOC technology, which tops out at 80W speeds.

For software, you’re getting OxygenOS 15 alongside AI features such as AI Writer and AI Summarize, as well as Google’s very own Gemini and Circle to Search features. There’s also Open Canvas which allows for app management including dragging, dropping, and splitting applications, and OnePlus promises to provide three major Android OS updates and six years of bi-monthly security patches for the device.
