Another week, another round of tech releases—it’s been quite busy these past few days, although we’d be lying if we said that this week’s crop of tech news was “boring.” In fact, there were some rather pleasant surprises (especially for gamers) courtesy of Valve’s new lineup of Steam-branded hardware and Sony’s PS5 Monitor, to name a few. So with that out of the way, here’s a quick recap of what you might have missed out on—let’s get started!

Sony Unveils its Brand New Desktop Gaming Monitor for the PS5

While most desktop gaming setups will probably consist of a dedicated gaming PC or laptop at the core, it should be said that having a console setup on your table with its own monitor has a special charm to it. We suppose this is the market that Sony wants to tap into, following the announcement of its new 27-inch Gaming Monitor. It features an IPS panel with a QHD resolution of up to 2560x1440p, as well as HDR support with Auto HDR Tone Mapping. For connectivity, the monitor features two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 for compatibility across PS5, PC, Mac, and other devices.

Valve Announces its New Ecosystem of Steam Products

In what could be seen as one of the biggest surprise announcements in tech and gaming this year, Valve unveiled that it’s expanding its Steam hardware line-up with the upcoming launch of three new devices, which include the new Steam wireless Controller, the Steam Machine gaming PC/console, and the Steam Frame wireless VR headset. All three products are scheduled to ship in early 2026 across existing Steam Deck regions, as well as Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, with specific pricing and launch dates to be announced after the new year.

Realme’s New GT 8 Pro Packs a Custom Camera System along with a Powerful Chipset

The battle for the best smartphone camera rages on, we’re seeing tons of interesting hardware setups from several big brands like Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi to name a few. Not one to be left behind, Realme recently announced its its new GT 8 Pro flagship, which comes as a result of a four-year technical collaboration with veteran camera brand RICOH GR. The phone also features a custom RICOH GR Camera System which includes a 50MP Anti-Glare Main Camera with 7P lens and a 5-layer anti-reflective coating for glare reduction, which works in tandem with a software-based “RICOH GR mode” and two classic RICOH GR focal lengths at 28mm and 40mm.

The OnePlus 15 Finally Makes its Global Debut

It’s nearly the end of 2025, but the smartphone releases just keep coming—this time, it’s OnePlus who’s under the spotlight after finally launching the OnePlus 15 flagship for global markets. Priced starting at £849 for buyers in the UK, OnePlus has packed a ton of impressive hardware inside the 15 including Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, which is accompanied by up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. More impressively, the phone also features a massive 7,000mAh battery, outsizing batteries found on rival flagship devices from Samsung and Apple, for example.

If you’re a content creator looking to add a new drone to your setup, then you’re in luck—DJI recently unveiled its new Neo 2 drone, which it describes as its lightest and most compact model yet at just 151 grams. The Neo 2 also comes with omnidirectional obstacle sensing and also supports Gesture Control, allowing users to fully operate the drone (including direction, proximity, and camera angle) all with simple hand movements, which reduces the need for a remote controller for basic shots.
