This week has been a busy one for Xiaomi—the Chinese tech giant dropped a ton of new tech over the past few days, and this also includes the launch of the Xiaomi MIX Flip 2, a new foldable smartphone designed to go head-to-head with some of the more “mainstream” players on the market. The MIX FLip 2 packs a decent spec sheet and notable improvements over its predecessor, which was launched a while back.

At the heart of the MIX Flip 2 beats Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the same chip powering flagship devices like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, for example. In addition to this, there’s a range of storage configurations to choose from, including 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage, and 16GB RAM with 1TB of internal storage. This setup runs on a 5,165 mAh battery, which is pretty considerable for a phone of this size.

When folded up, the MIX Flip 2’s external display features a 3.5-inch AMOLED panel with a peak brightness of 3200 nits, as well as a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The main highlight of course is the handset’s inner display, which unfolds to a 6.86-inch size—like the external screen, it also peaks at 3200 nits with a 120Hz refresh rate, which should make it ideal for general daily use and content consumption. Xiaomi adds that it’s designed the phone to be able to withstand repetitive folding and opening for longer.
For photography, the MIX Flip 2 is equipped with a dual 50MP main setup with a wide and ultra-wide camera tandem, with support for 8K video recording at up to 24 frames per second. For selfies and video calls, there’s a 32MP front-facing camera which likewise supports 4K video recording. In terms of software, the phone runs on Android with HyperOS on top, in addition to a plethora of first-party Xiaomi apps and software. The Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 will be available in four different colour options including White, Purple, Green, and Checkered Gold, with a starting price of 5,999 RMB (approximately £615).
