What's This?

Xiaomi’s done it again—perhaps aside from its budget-friendly Redmi phones, the Chinese tech giant is also widely known for its POCO-branded devices, which are marketed towards performance-oriented users looking for bang-for-your-buck handsets. That being said, Xiaomi recently added a new entry to its POCO lineup in the form of the POCO M7 Plus, which starts for less than around £120. Currently available for buyers in India, the M7 Plus packs some pretty formidable features.

At first glance, the POCO M7 Plus resembles its midrange sibling the POCO F7 especially with its general shape and similarly-designed camera module, although a closer look reveals some key differences. For one, the M7 Plus comes with slightly thicker bezels around its impressively-large 6.9-inch display, which ditches OLED hardware in favour of an LCD panel. It does feature an impressive 144Hz refresh rate though, which should provide a smooth-looking user experience for Netflix binges, web browsing, and day-to-day tasks. Available in Aqua Blue, Carbon Black and Chrome Silver, it also features IP64 dust and water protection in addition to Gorilla Glass 3 protection for its screen.

There’s a reason that the M7 Plus is rather affordable—inside, the phone runs on a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chip, a processor used mainly for entry-level devices. It’s also accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, although we’d recommend going with the 8GB RAM version, as it will provide better headroom should you want to do a bit of gaming on your device. Perhaps the biggest highlight of the phone is its 7,000 mAh battery, which should be more than enough to last most users a day or more, especially considering the low-end processor inside. It charges at just 33W however, which isn’t the fastest on the market.

For its cameras, the phone comes with a dual-setup on the rear panel with a 50MP primary sensor, which works in tandem with some AI-based photography features. Video resolution does top out at 1080p however, which isn’t too surprising given its price. You will be able to store a lot of videos locally though, thanks to the M7 Plus’ built-in micro SD storage slot, which can support cards of up to 2TB in capacity. As for software, the phone runs on Hyper OS on top of Android 15, with access to exclusive apps and third-party software from Xiaomi.
