What's This?

For tech enthusiasts, MWC is usually one of the biggest events of the year, mostly due to the insane amount of tech that’s showcased by the biggest names in the business – and this covers everything from smartphones, wearables, all the way up to laptops and more. As such, Honor recently announced that it will soon be launching its new MagicBook Pro 16, a Windows laptop that adds some nifty AI features into its bag of tricks. Speaking about the launch, Honor CEO George Zhao comments:

“At HONOR, our commitment lies in embracing open collaboration with industry partners to foster a flourishing ecosystem. We firmly believe in the transformative power of collaborative synergy, especially in the era of AI. By leveraging the collective expertise of top industry players, we are dedicated to crafting exceptional products and delivering unparalleled experiences to consumers worldwide.”

The announcement of the MagicBook Pro 16 also coincided with the launch of the Honor Magic 6 Pro, the company’s hottest premium Android phone to date – but we’re not here to talk about the Magic 6 Pro (although there’s a handy link below in case you want to see what it’s all about). So what exactly can you expect once the MagicBook Pro 16 launches?

Design and Display

Encased in a sleek aluminium casing, the biggest highlight on Honor’s newest laptop is its display, which measures 16 inches. It’s an impressive-looking screen, with a 3072 x 1920 pixel resolution, in addition to a rather smooth 165Hz refresh rate, which does make it ideal for content consumption and maybe a bit of gaming as well. It’s got a sharp-looking form factor, which does help it stand out a bit in a sea of otherwise plain-looking Windows laptops.

Additionally, the MagicBook Pro 16 also features a handful of connectivity ports including USB-C, HMDI and USB-A, as well as a six-speaker setup. Honor adds that the laptop comes with support for spatial audio for a more immersive experience with supported media and content.

Specs and Software

It’s clear that Honor has positioned the MagicBook Pro 16 as a device meant for productivity and play, thanks to some pretty great hardware components. Inside the laptop you’ll find an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor 155H, which works in tandem with a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series Laptop GPU for gaming and other performance-centric workloads. For software, the laptop ships with Windows 11 pre-installed, alongside some software add-ons from Honor which allows the MagicBook to sync seamlessly with other Honor smart devices.

AI is big in consumer tech this year, and as such there’s a wealth of AI features that come onboard the MagicBook Pro 16. Users can tap into the laptop’s AI capabilities which include functions such as Smart Picture Search, Smart Document Summary, Text Comprehension, AI Subtitle, and Magic Text, which are all geared for productivity.

It should be noted that as of this moment, the Honor MagicBook Pro 16 isn’t available yet – the company states that the laptop will first make its way to Chinese markets this year, although it plans to launch it for international markets in Q2 2024.
