We’re pretty much halfway through September by now, and at this point in time we’ve seen all the major flagship smartphone releases from the biggest brands on the market—this of course includes Apple, which recently announced its latest iPhone 17 series handsets. Apple wasn’t the only name in the headlines this week, so here’s a quick rundown of all the tech action that you might have missed out on these past few days. Let’s get started!
Apple’s New iPhones Make Their Debut

There’s no question that Apple’s annual iPhone launches are among the top-watched streams on the internet, and this week’s Apple Event was no different. The company finally introduced its new iPhone 17 lineup which comes with big changes all across the board, such as the addition of better display hardware on the base model 17, a newer design with the 17 Pro models, and the addition of a new “Air” line. We also saw the debut of the Apple Watch SE 3, Apple Watch Ultra 3, Apple Watch Series 11, and a new AirPods model.
LG will Let You Play Xbox Titles in Your Car

LG recently announced an expansion of its in-vehicle Automotive Content Platform (ACP) through new partnerships with Xbox and Zoom, which will enable passengers to access hundreds of cloud-based games via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on their car’s infotainment screen. Additionally, the platform will also support the Zoom app, allowing users to participate in meetings while traveling while keeping a focus on safety. LG aims to have the ACP in 20 million vehicles by 2030.
Spotify Finally Brings Lossless Audio to Listeners

Spotify finally revealed that it was rolling out its lossless audio feature to Premium subscribers in select markets. Spotify says that the new feature gives users the chance to enjoy the highest music audio quality on the platform, with support for playback of up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC for a richer, more detailed listening experience. The upgrade will arrive for more than 50 markets throughout October, and Premium subscribers in Australia, Austria, Czechia, Denmark, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, the US, and the UK have already begun to get access.
The Sony Xperia 10 VII Comes with a New Camera Design and an Affordable Price

Sony’s Xperia line got a new addition with the launch of the 10 VII, which comes with a lot of the same features that we’ve gotten before on other Sony Android phones, such as a built-in 3.5mm headphone jack, expandable microSD storage, and a screen that features a 1080×2340 pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Available in three different colours, the Xperia 10 VII also ditches the vertical camera island for a more horizontal look, similar to the Google Pixel smartphone line. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, a 4nm processor designed for affordable devices.
Atari’s Looking to Enter the Handheld Gaming Scene with its Upcoming Portable

Finally, we have Atari—the veteran gaming brand announced the Gamestation Go, which marks its return to the hardware market. Designed for a retro-gaming experience, the handheld features a 7-inch HD display, a built-in kickstand, and a blend of modern and retro design aesthetics. The Gametstation Go also includes a standard controller setup, but also supports additional controls like a paddle, trackball, and keypad, an HDMI port for connecting to larger screens, built-in Wi-Fi for updates, and over 200 games. It will be available in October for $179.99.
